Rita M. Rodriguez

Dr. Rodriguez is a writer, researcher, and advisor in international finance, working with U.S. multinational companies and U.S. and foreign government agencies. Currently, she is a Senior Fellow at the Woodstock Theological Center of Georgetown University.

From 1982 to 1999, Dr. Rodriguez was a full-time member of the board of directors of the Export-Import Bank of the United States—the longest-serving director in the bank's 65-year history. In this position, she oversaw bank policy development and coordination for countries and programs, was responsible for formulation of bank policy objectives and negotiating strategy toward international organizations, and coordinated the bank's strategy and staff participation in U.S. government interagency groups and meetings with international organizations. She also chaired the board's audit and exposure management committees.

Before joining the Ex-Im Bank, from 1978 to 1982, Dr. Rodriguez was professor of finance at the University of Illinois at Chicago and, from 1969 to 1978, was assistant and associate professor of business administration at Harvard Business School. She has written numerous books and articles on international finance. Dr. Rodriguez received her bachelor's degree from the University of Puerto Rico and her master's and doctoral degrees from New York University Graduate School of Business.
